La Cambuse - 25 Rue du Gouvernement

I booked this restaurant for 9 people it was part of the 85th anniversary of the Dunkirk little ships. Some of the party were delayed as the were on boats. The staff were extremely understanding about this and didn't complain. There were also some unusual requests for drinks and the staff didn't bat an eyelid and were super helpful. I couldn't compliment them enough. All of the food was delicious and well flavoured and great portions. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was packed i would highly recommend.

La Cambuse is a Ch'tis gastronomy restaurant, the specialty of northern France. You will taste dishes with Maroilles cheese as ingredients. You'll eat dishes typical of the northern region of France and will also discover the beers of the region. The restaurant is located in the port area of ​​Dunkirk. It has a very original architecture and interior decorations and a friendly dining room. It's unique in its design in the world. The owner-manager and her team are friendly and welcoming. The service is almost fast. The value for money, there's nothing to say. Don't hesitate to park in the port car park because the restaurant is located just behind the port building.

I booked a table for 8 people who came over on the Dunkirk little ships. We were delayed on sitting down but the restaurant took that in their stride. There were some unusual requests for drinks and food and the staff were amazing never moaned and managed to fulfil our requests. The restaurant was absolutely packed but the food was delicious and service was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly staff in a quite unique restaurant, with cargo containers and an old Citroën van as part of the decoration. Our waitress spoke fluent English and gave us good recommendations about what to try. The restaurant got quite crowded within minutes, no wonder as food and drinks are really spot on. Thanks again for the pleasant stay!

My mother and I came here on our visit to Dunkirk / Dunkerque, as the staff at our hotel recommended this place. It was an easy walk here, as the restaurant is fairly centrally situated. It's not exactly central to the city but it's pretty close. I wasn't feeling too adventurous food-wise so I ordered something simple (The Welsh Jambon) and was fairly happy with it. It wasn't mind blowing but it was decent, and I really loved the atmosphere here. I rounded up the experience with a little espresso and was overall happy with the meal. If I return to Dunkerque, then I would likely return to this restaurant.

It's a really nice place to go with your girlfriend or even your friends. Very tasty food!!! Amazing personel ready to help you! The atmosphere is like a pub or a beer club. Thank you very much for everything.

Visited La Cambuse for a quick dinner. I tried the local dish Carbonade flamande (originally Belgian) dish which was good. I had tried that before in Belgium and here it was slightly different, with pieces of tender meat being bigger than usual. The atmosphere inside is very interesting, there are containers that are part of decor. The restaurant has a marine theme inside. Good for group dinners and drinks. Location wise it is waterfront which is an additional benefit.
